مقدمه: گردشگری سلامت راهبردی مهم برای جذب سرمایه خارجی است ولی ظرفیت‌های بهره‌برداری نشده‌ای در مناطقی مانند آذربایجان و شهر مراغه وجود دارد که می‌توانند در توسعه این صنعت نقش مؤثری ایفا کنند. هدف از مطالعه حاضر تعیین پتانسیل‌ها و موانع توسعه گردشگری سلامت در شهر مراغه بود.
روش‌ها: مطالعه کیفی حاضر با استفاده از مصاحبه‌های نیمه‌ساختاریافته در سال1403 انجام شد. جامعه پژوهش شامل تمام افراد خبره در حوزه گردشگری سلامت و سازمان‌های مرتبط در شهرستان مراغه بود. نمونه‌گیری ابتدا به روش هدفمند و سپس به روش گلوله‌برفی انجام شد. این فرآیند تا رسیدن به نقطه اشباع نظری ادامه یافت. داده‌های جمع‌آوری‌شده به روش تحلیل محتوای کیفی تحلیل شدند.
یافته‌ها: شهرستان مراغه از پتانسیل‌های قابل‌توجهی شامل منابع طبیعی درمانی، زیرساخت‌های ارتباطی و جغرافیایی مطلوب و همچنین خدمات سلامت تخصصی در حوزه‌هایی همچون قلب و نوزادان برخوردار است. موانع گسترده‌ای از قبیل کمبودهای زیرساختی در بخش‌های اقامتی و درمانی، ضعف در بازاریابی، نبود همکاری مؤثر بین‌بخشی و نیز سطح ناکافی فرهنگ گردشگرپذیری امکان بهره‌برداری از این ظرفیت‌ها را محدود ساخته است. در سطح عملیاتی، موانع بیمارستانی از جمله کمبود نیروی متخصص، ضعف در مهارت‌های ارتباطی کارکنان، مسائل مالی و نبود برنامه‌ریزی یکپارچه به چشم می‌خورد.
نتیجه‌گیری: مراغه، با وجود پتانسیل‌های گردشگری، در توسعه گردشگری سلامت با چالش‌هایی مواجه است. بهبود زیرساخت‌های گردشگری و گردشگری سلامت، شفاف‌سازی هزینه‌های درمانی، همکاری بین‌بخشی و توسعه فعالیت‌های بازاریابی، جذب سرمایه‌گذار، کاهش بروکراسی و افزایش امنیت از عوامل کلیدی در رشد این صنعت است.
