Abstract

Introduction: One of the most effective factors on increasing effectiveness, efficacy and ultimately productivity, is the organizational manager styles. Due to every organization has unique condition it needed and its own management skills, managers' knowledge of the patterns and management theories, makes their job much easier and causes their organizations successes. Main objective of this study is finding different methods of the management in teaching and non teaching administrators in Kerman University of Medical sciences in different levels and their duties (planning, organizing, controlling). 

Methods: This is an applied study carried out as cross-sectional analytic method. The research population is all the high level and intermediate administrators. Tools of collecting data were two questionnaires: questionnaire Achecked the Fiddler methods and questionnaire B checked manager's performances. After evaluating validity and reliability those two questioners they were distributed among University's administrators. Data analysis was done as descriptive(frequencies, means, and standard deviations)and analytic(one way analysis of variances, regressions, Toki HSD test, Duncan, and Pearson's correlation and Spearman tests) using SPSS software.

Results: About almost 49% of administrators in planning, and 48% of them in organizing, judged in upper level, and 40% in the medium level. Other finding showed that between their styles (duties oriented and relation oriented) and planning, organizing, and control there was significant correlations. Also between the mean of administrators control in different age groups and different years of services and levels of the their experiences there were meaning differences. Conclusions:According to our findings the duty oriented and relation oriented administrators both have good performances in planning and determining organizational goals. Also our findings showed that with a suitable organizational managing style in , duties could be arranged to improve organizations' performances. That means , the more managers' style are coordinated with the facts and needs of subordinate people, the more accomplish such as planning, organizing, and controlling, would achieved by administrators. Because management is a relation between control and influence, both duties oriented and relation oriented administrators are assure to achieve their goals.

Abstract

Introduction: Nowadays, higher education has transformed as dynamic and complicated academic ac- tivity, soit’s required for university managersto grasp exact and deep knowledge, and understanding about university circumstances, to effectiveness of university management. This research was aimed to iden- tify circumstances and evaluation of organization through internal and external analysis in case School of Management and Medical Information Science, Isfahan University of Medical Sciences in the year 2007.

Methods: This is a descriptive - survey research, combined with qualitative method. The research population including all of provide chancellors and managers of this university. The data collecting tools are interviews and researcher-made questionnaires. For data analyzing we used qualitative analysis (SWOT), and descriptive statistics methods.

Results: Findings showed that the school have more strength points and opportunities than weaknesses or threat points. So we can use more of opportunities in the way of reduce of weakness. Of course cultural part in this collage has the most weakness. From the collage problems, we can point to the management strong challenges, high concentration in management of university, lack of thinking and invest attitude to the school. 

Conclusion: School of Management and Medical Information Science is in a good situation, and could use external and internal environmental factors appropriately. But still it is face to many problem needs strategic planning and prospect looking, and exploiting strengths and opportunities.

Abstract

Introduction: E-health planning in Iran suffers from some shortcomings which could be overcome by identifying the priorities of policymaking. The purpose of this study is to identify, categorize, and prioritize the indices of e-health policymaking in Iran.

Methods: Through reviewing the related research, the indices were identified and categorized. The list of the indices was revised by 38 e-health experts. The data, collected by means of questionnaires, were analyzed through Freedman Test in SPSS.

Results: Having reviewed the related studies, three categories of indices were identified: infrastructures, policies, and strategies. The survey of infrastructures of e-health development showed that the legal and legislative provision had the highest priority. In the area of policies, it was found that the highest priority was related to the integration of e-health activists and providers. Finally, in the area of strategies of e-health development, public and affordable access based on people’s needs showed the highest priorities.

 Discussion: Enactment of laws of privacy and laws facilitating private sector activities, coordination between e-health activists and provision of access to quality and public services should be among the priorities of policymakers.

Abstract

Introduction: Technological developments, globalization, the need for immediate reaction to environmental changes , reduction in costs in the presence of  of intense competition, and a decrease in loyalty among the staff are all to emphasis the need for Succession Planning in organizations. This study aimed to assess the current and desired situations of Succession Planning by gap analysis in Iran Ministry of Health and Medical Education in 2013.

Methods: This study is cross-sectional. A questionnaire benefiting from the existing literature was developed by a research team about current and the desired situations of Succession Planning. After ensuring validity and reliability, the questionnaire was distributed among 268 people from general managers, Heads of offices, deputies of general managers, Heads of expert groups, responsible Experts and Experts by the census. The data were analyzed by SPSS18 , using  Paired T-test .

Results: The current situation of organizations for Succession Planning based on  the six axes including planning, organizational culture, systems approach, model of competence, professional upgrade path and the role of senior managers in the research, was acceptable rating over 50 percent. At the same time the gap between the current and desired situation in all aspects, was significant. Average rating of the status quo was 1.06 with a standard deviation of 2.90 while it was   3.82 with a standard deviation of 0.89 for the desired situation.

Conclusion: Given the  acceptable points in the current situation and a significant gap between current and desired situation for Succession Planning, it seems that the critical issue of Succession Planning should be taken into close consideration due to the nature and specific features of the organization under the study.

Abstract

Introduction: One of the important requirements of health care systems in providing quality and safe services is developing appropriate strategies, effective implementation of these strategies, and controlling the results of the implementation. The design and implementation of a strategic control system ensures that the organization's performance in relation to the strategic management steps is correct. The purpose of this study was to identify and explore factors related to strategic control in the hospital systems.
Methods: This analytical study was conducted in 2016 on 425 experts from the Strategic Planning Committee of educational hospitals affiliated to Tehran and Iran University of Medical Sciences and experts in the field of strategic planning. Data were collected using a researcher-made questionnaire. Data analysis was performed based on exploratory factor analysis with SPSS 21 software. Data were collected using a researcher-made questionnaire. Data analysis was conducted based on exploratory factor analysis using the SPSS software version 21.
Results: Results of the exploratory factor analysis showed that factors related to strategic control in the hospital system were five independent factors including infrastructure and external support (variance percentage 13.3), vision clarification and strategy and conversion to action (variance percentage 12.2), sharing and establishing data and knowledge flow (variance percentage 10.3), planning and setting goals (variance percentage 9.2), and strategic learning and feedback (variance percentage 7.5).
Conclusion: The results of the study showed that the strategic control questionnaire used in this study could be useful as a tool for assessing the accuracy of designing, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of strategies in the hospital systems.
