Application of librarianship and medical information theses: an investigation of faculty of management and medical information

<p> در این پژوهش نظرات مسئولان کتابخانه های دانشگاه های علوم پزشکی ایران، تهران و شهید بهشتی و استادان راهنما در مورد نحوه و میزان استفاده از 22 عنوان پایان نامه کتابداری و اطلاع رسانی پزشکی دانشکده مدیریت و اطلاع رسانی پزشکی ارائه شده در سالهای 1371 و 1372 مورد بررسی قرار گرفت. ابزار گردآوری اطلاعات دو پرسشنامه بود که برای مسئولان کتابخانه های پزشکی و استادان راهنمای پایان نامه های مورد بررسی ارسال گردید. صددرصد پرسشنامه ها تکمیل و عودت داده شد. نتایج حاصل از بررسی نشان داد که 58 درصد از مسئولان کتابخانه ها از وجود پایان نامه هایی که کتابخانه های آنان، جامعه مورد بررسی آنها بودند اطلاعی ندارند و از بین کسانی که اطلاع داشتند 6/58 درصد پایان نامه ها را به دلیل عدم دسترسی در درجه اول و سپس عدم نیاز مطالعه نکرده بودند. </p>کسانی که پایان نامه ها را مطالعه کرده بودند تنها 1/2 درصد پس از مطالعه در جهت یافته های تحقیق تغییراتی در کتابخانه خود ایجاد کرده بودند. 28/77 درصد از استادان راهنمابه پایان نامه های راهنمایی شده خود اشاره یا استناد کرده بودند. 5/45 درصد از پایان نامه ها به صورت مقاله منتشر شد و یا در سمینارهای کتابداری ارائه گردید و دقیقاً از نیمی از پایان نامه ها جهت انتخاب عنوان پایان نامه های دیگر ایده گرفته شده بود.
In the present study, we investigated the attitudes of supervisors, staff and individuals in charge of libraries of Tehran, Iran and Shahid Beheshti universities of medical sciences on the quality and quantity of use of 22 theses on librarianship and medical information course written by students of faculty of management and medical information proposed in years 1992-1993. Data were elicited through two kinds of questionnaires submitted to medical libraries' staff and the supervisors of investigated theses. All questionnaires were filled out and there was no missed one. The findings showed that 58% of libraries' staff was unaware of the theses which had investigated their libraries as their investigation community. Those who were informed of these theses, had not studied them firstly because they didn't access to them and secondly because they didn't need them.
Of those who had studied the theses, only 2.1% had made some changes to their libraries according to the research findings after study. 77.28% of supervisors had pointed or referred to their supervised theses. 45.5% of theses' results were published as papers or presented in student seminars of librarianship. Half of the theses were benefitted in the choice of titles for other theses.
