Information system plays a crucial role in this process. The present study dealt with determining the attitudes of managers towards the characteristics of information systems in decision- making at teaching hospitals affiliated with Iran University of Medical Sciences. Methods: The study was a cross-sectional in nature. The research population included hospital managers, directors and nursing supervisors. Data collection was carried out through a questionnaire constructed by the researcher. Validity of the research instrument was determined by content validity and Test-retest. Findings: The majority of managers (59.5%) emphasized the importace of information systems in decision-making process. Information systems mainly support the problem identification phase (59.5%) but not the implementation of the decisions (8.3%). Information systems focused on financial performance information (36.1).
